SENTINEL Live — Terms of Use

Version 2026-07-24.2 · SENIXA Operations (Pty) Ltd

Part A — What you accept on screen

Before you continue. SENTINEL Live is a security monitoring aid, not an emergency service. In an emergency, contact the emergency services directly.

By continuing you agree that:

The important part: anything you screenshot, save or share is your responsibility. Your unique ID is stamped on every image, so if one ends up where it shouldn’t, it traces straight back to you.

By ticking the acceptance box you confirm: “I accept the Terms of Use, and I understand that anything I capture or share is my responsibility.”

Part B — SENTINEL Live Terms of Use (full)

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

1.1These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of SENTINEL Live (the “Service”), the live camera-viewing portal operated by SENIXA Operations (Pty) Ltd (“SENIXA”, “we”, “us”, “our”). They apply to every person who signs in to the Service.
1.2Chargeable or contracted use of the wider SENTINEL platform is governed by a separate services agreement between SENIXA and the relevant client body (for example, a neighbourhood watch, CID or estate). Where that agreement exists and conflicts with these Terms, the services agreement prevails.

2. The Service

2.1SENTINEL Live provides live viewing access to the cameras your account has been granted permission to view.
2.2It is a monitoring aid only and is not an emergency or life-safety service. The Service depends on third-party cameras, power supplies and network connections that SENIXA does not control. The availability of any camera, or of the Service itself, is not guaranteed. In an emergency, contact the emergency services directly and never rely on the Service as your means of detecting or responding to an incident.

3. Your account

3.1Your login is personal to you. You must not share your credentials or allow anyone else to use your account. You are fully responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3.2Notify us immediately if you believe your credentials have been compromised. We may suspend or revoke any account at any time if we reasonably believe these Terms are being breached, or to protect the security or integrity of the Service or any camera owner’s systems.

4. Acceptable use

4.1You may use the Service only for lawful security-monitoring purposes connected to the cameras you have been granted access to.
4.2You must not: use the Service to harass, stalk or unlawfully monitor any person; attempt to access cameras outside your granted permissions; bypass any streaming, quality or watermarking measure; probe, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service; introduce malicious code; or use the Service in any other unlawful manner.

5. Footage, snapshots and your responsibility (POPIA)

5.1Camera footage and snapshots may contain the personal information of identifiable individuals and are protected by the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (“POPIA”).
5.2When you view footage through the Service, SENIXA processes that information on behalf of the camera owner. When you take a snapshot, or otherwise save, export or share any image or footage, you become responsible for that further processing under POPIA.
5.3You may only share footage or snapshots where the law permits and to the minimum extent necessary. You must not post footage, snapshots or screen images to social media, public groups, or any forum accessible to the general public. Anything you capture or share is your responsibility; if it is disclosed unlawfully, the responsibility is yours.
5.4Every sign-in, camera view and snapshot is logged (who, what, when and from where). These audit records exist to protect data subjects and camera owners. We may retain and disclose them to the camera owner, the Information Regulator, or law enforcement agencies where lawfully required. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to this logging and disclosure.

6. Identity watermarking

6.1The live picture you view, and any snapshot or recording you export, is watermarked with your unique account identifier as a security and accountability measure. This makes any captured or shared image traceable directly to your account.
6.2You must not remove, obscure, crop out or otherwise defeat the watermark. Doing so is a breach of these Terms.

7. Streaming tiers and limits

7.1Streaming quality, resolution, frame rate and concurrent-viewing limits are governed by your assigned tier and the technical capabilities of the Service. SENIXA may modify these limits at any time. Excessive use that affects service performance may result in temporary throttling or suspension.

8. Liability

8.1To the maximum extent permitted by law, SENIXA shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, including any loss, damage or injury resulting from reliance on the Service, camera downtime, network failures, or the acts or omissions of third parties. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, and you use it entirely at your own risk.
8.2Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

9. No warranty

9.1The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise. SENIXA disclaims all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

10. Indemnity

10.1You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless SENIXA, its directors, employees, agents and affiliates against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and reasonable legal fees arising out of or in connection with: your breach of these Terms; your misuse of the Service; any unlawful sharing or processing of footage or snapshots by you; or any violation of POPIA or other applicable law for which you are responsible.

11. Intellectual property

11.1All rights, title and interest in the Service, its software, platform and content remain the exclusive property of SENIXA. You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service strictly in accordance with these Terms.

12. Termination

12.1We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms.

13. Governing law

13.1These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Western Cape.

14. Changes to these Terms

14.1We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, the version changes and you will be asked to accept the updated Terms on your next sign-in. Continued use of the Service after acceptance constitutes agreement to the updated Terms.

15. Privacy Policy

15.1Please refer to our Privacy Policy at senixa.tech/privacy-policy for details on how we collect, process and protect personal information in connection with the Service.
